1/2/09 Winter Chills horror book review project

With this update we are launching our Winter Chills seasonal horror book review project. Horror fiction review sites such as HorrorWorld, Dark Scribe Magazine, and Horror Fiction Review are reviewing horror titles for your winter reading leisure. As reviews are posted, we are providing links to each other's reviews. As each site posts further reviews, new links willl be provided. For this project, MonsterLibrarian.com is going graphical, with all reviews of graphic novels, including reviews of Hybrid by Peter Kwong art by Pablo Churin and Mary Cataioa and Zombie Tales Vol. 1 by Andrew Cosby, John Rogers, Keith Giffen, Michael Alan Nelson, and Johanna Stokes in the adult graphic novel section and Death Valley by Andrew Cosby, Johanna Stokes, and illustrated by Rhoald Marcellus and Agnes Quill: an anthology of mystery by Dave Roman, illustrated by Jason Ho, Raina Telgemeier, Jeff Zornow, and Dave Roman in the young adult Graphic Novels section. MonsterLibrarian.com has a new look to make it easier to read and navigate the site. In addition to the changes to the site, we have new reviews with Bob Freeman reviewing Fried! Fast Food, Slow Deaths edited by Colleen Morris and Joel A. Sutherland in the adult horror Anthologies section. The Angry Princess reviews The Possessed by Ronald Dondeigo in the adult Supernatural section. We have revisited our review of Pod of Horror since its move to Horrorworld.org In the Scary Books for Kids section Jabberwocky by Lewis Carroll, ill. Christopher Myers.

We have put together lists of graphic novels focusing on Zombies and Vampires. We have updated Coming Horror Fiction Releases for April and May. 3/30/07 Reviews of Noir, Zombies, and Dracula vs. Grampa

This week Bret Jordan reviews Richard Matheson's Noir: Three Novels of Suspense. In addition, there are reviews for Permuted Press's latest zombie book Dying To Live by Kim Paffenroth. For those looking for a quick read the Monster Librarian reviews Angela Albee's Wedding Bells, Tortured Souls . 2/16/07 Reviews for adults, youngs adults, and kids. Music, Monstrous Sightings, and a store!

New reviews have been posted. First for the adults there is Bowie Ibarra's zombie title Down the Road: On the Last Day. For the young adults in the human horror section Fracesca the Librarian reviews Silent to the Bone by E.L. Konigsburg. Children will be interested in Monster Museum by Marilyn Singer and illustrated by Gris Grimly.

1/25/07 Another zombie review, a first look at Y/A vampire novel Tantalize, and Philip Henry's Mind's Eye

A little bit of cosmetic upgrade on the site today, so minor you might not even notice it. This week Bret Jordan reviews J.L Bourne's Day by Day Armageddon for zombie book readers. In addition, for those interested in the shuffling dead, I provided a link to a great zombie article written by author Shannon Riley on the zombie page. I provide a review of Candlewick's much anticipate vampire release by Cynthia Leitich Smith titled Tantalize. Finally, a review of Philip Henry's Mind's Eye in the supernatural section for adults. In the Book Ends section I added an Ask the Monster Librarian page for all those with horror fiction questions (including collection development and readers advisory). 12/27/06 New reviews posted: zombies, vampires, ghosts, and pop up books

In the end of year reviewfest we have reviews for Z A Recht's The Morningstar Strain: Plague of the Dead from Permuted Press in the adult zombie section. A Cemetery Dance Novella by Tom Piccirilli and Edward Gorman titled Cast in Dark Waters is reviewed in the adult vampire section. Harry Shannon's The Pressure of Darkness is reviewed in the adult Horror Adventure section. For the Young Adults there is a review in the Supernatural section for E. E. Richardson's The Intruders. For the 12 and younger crowd the fantastic pop up book Mommy?with art by Maurice Sendak, the scenario by Arthur Yorinks, and the paper engineering by Matthew Reinhart.
