In this update I take a look at James A. Moore's Deeper from Necessary Evil Press in the Cthulhu Mythos section. J.L. Bourne 's re-edited/re-packaged Day by Day Armageddon from Permuted Press is reviewed in the adult Zombie section. Scott T. Goudsward's Trailer Trash from Dark Hart Press is reviewed in the adult Vampire section. 7/4/07 Reviews of books with zombies, vampires, and Godzilla for kids

Bret Jordan reviews David Moody's Autumn and I review Eric S. Brown's zombie tale The Queen in the adult zombie section. There is also a review for James A. Moore's Harvest Moon in the adult supernatural section. For vampire lovers Bret Jordan reviews Blood Coven by Christopher Fulbright and Angeline Hawkes in the adult vampire section. Bret also reviews Christopher Fulbright 's Sometimes Women Are So Cold and Echoes of Terror with stories selected by Katherine Smith, Garrett Peck, and Giovanna Lagana in the something difference section for adults. There are reviews for Who’s Afraid of Godzilla? by Di Kaiju and Godzilla on Monster Island by Jacqueline Dwyer. Finally, the site has a new feature called Monster Librarian's Spotlight, to showcase a publisher, author, or topic that we think you should know about. The current spotlight is on the small press chapbook publisher White Noise Press.

6/25/07 New horror fiction reviews for adults, teens, and kids

A host of new reviews this week. Bret Jordan reviews Tapestry of Dark Souls by Elaine Bergstrom in the adult Horror Adventure section. Francesca the Librarian reviews Cryptid Hunters by Roland Smith in the young adult Horror Adventure section.. The Angry Princess reviews The Island by Richard Laymon in the adult Human Horror section. Patricia reviews Rebirth by Scott McKenzie in the adult vampire section. I review Gary Braunbeck's Smiling Faces Sometimes and spotlight White Noise Press in the adult Something Different section. Finally, I review I See a Monster: A Touch And Feel Book by Laurie Young in the Scary Book for Kids section. Finally, we were mentioned in the Rue Morgue magazine's In the Roadkill form the Info Highway section in the June,2007 edition, it is noted in the Monstrous Sightings section. 2/6/07 Reviews of The Road, Vamped, and Cirque Du Freak, new Monster Librarian image by Bret Jordan, and updated Coming Horror Fiction Release

Bret Jordan reviews The Road By Cormac McCarthy for adults in the Apocalyptic Horror section. There is a review of Vamped by David Sosnowski and for the young adults a review of Cirque Du Freak. Bret Jordan did a fantastic job of drawing an image of the Monster Librarian that can be found on the left hand frame of the frames version of the site. Finally, there has been an update to the Coming Horror Fiction Releases with additional entries for March and April.

1/25/07 Another zombie review, a first look at Y/A vampire novel Tantalize, and Philip Henry's Mind's Eye

A little bit of cosmetic upgrade on the site today, so minor you might not even notice it. This week Bret Jordan reviews J.L Bourne's Day by Day Armageddon for zombie book readers. In addition, for those interested in the shuffling dead, I provided a link to a great zombie article written by author Shannon Riley on the zombie page. I provide a review of Candlewick's much anticipate vampire release by Cynthia Leitich Smith titled Tantalize. Finally, a review of Philip Henry's Mind's Eye in the supernatural section for adults. In the Book Ends section I added an Ask the Monster Librarian page for all those with horror fiction questions (including collection development and readers advisory). Finally, also in Book Ends there is the World War I and II Horror Fiction List which has horror titles with ties to either World War I or World War II. Keep reading! ML

1/16/07 Vampire books for Young Adults, Zombie Books for the Adults, and The Last Stand of the Great Texas Packrat

First off I want to officially welcome Bret Jordan on the staff as a regular reviewer. Bret has been busy reading zombie related titles and has reviews for One Rainy Night by Richard Laymon and The Undead edited by D. L. Snell and Elija Hall. For young adult vampire lovers we have The Last Days by Scott Westerfeld and The Darkangel by Meredith Ann Pierce. In addition there is a review of The Last Stand of the Great Texas Packrat Steve Vernon and Illustrations by Keith Minnion. 12/27/06 New reviews posted: zombies, vampires, ghosts, and pop up books

In the end of year reviewfest we have reviews for Z A Recht's The Morningstar Strain: Plague of the Dead from Permuted Press in the adult zombie section. A Cemetery Dance Novella by Tom Piccirilli and Edward Gorman titled Cast in Dark Waters is reviewed in the adult vampire section. Harry Shannon's The Pressure of Darkness is reviewed in the adult Horror Adventure section. For the Young Adults there is a review in the Supernatural section for E. E. Richardson's The Intruders. For the 12 and younger crowd the fantastic pop up book Mommy?with art by Maurice Sendak, the scenario by Arthur Yorinks, and the paper engineering by Matthew Reinhart.
