9/2/09 Reviewing zombie titles, a slasher story, and a tale of the supernatural.

In this update we give you a double dose of zombie mayhem with Bob Freeman reviewing Derek Gunn's The Estuary and the Monster Librarian reviews Anthony Giangregorio's Road Kill.

Bob Freeman also reviews Gregory Lamberson's Personal Demons, KDP reviews Bare Bones #11 edited by Kevin L. Donihe. Bret Jordan reviews Simon Clark's This Ghosting Tide.

For our children's section KDP reviews RD Henham's Green Dragon Codex.

We are still running our two contests. The first is for a copy of the latest y/a vampire title Night Runner by Max Turner and the other is for a copy of Rick Yancey's Gothic horror Monstrumologist at our Contest page.

10/1/08 Halloween Horror Book Review Project Launch

Tonight we launch the 2008 Halloween Horror Book Review Project. This year MonsterLibrarian.com, Horrorworld, Horror-Web, Hellnotes, FearZone, Horror Drive-In, and Dark Scribe Magazine will be offering up reviews of horror titles, many set on or around Halloween. Reviews will be posted throughout the month, so please check back here for the latest Halloween fun. The Monster Librarian reviewed Ghost Walk by Brian Keene in the adult Supernatural page and Bound for Evil edited by Tom English in the adult horror anthologies page. Horror Drive-in has contributed a review of Miranda by John Little in the adult Something Different section. Hellnotes already has posted their review of Night Country by Stewart O"Nan. We will have additional reviews and goodies all through October.

We have also started the final update of the 2008 Coming Horror Fiction Releases page for October, November, and December and will have part 2 of the update next week

For teens and to help with YALSA's Books with Bite program we have put together the latest list of young adult vampire fiction.

3/17/08 A new look, new reviews, and more lists

MonsterLibrarian.com has a new look to make it easier to read and navigate the site. In addition to the changes to the site, we have new reviews with Bob Freeman reviewing Fried! Fast Food, Slow Deaths edited by Colleen Morris and Joel A. Sutherland in the adult horror Anthologies section. The Angry Princess reviews The Possessed by Ronald Dondeigo in the adult Supernatural section. We have revisited our review of Pod of Horror since its move to Horrorworld.org In the Scary Books for Kids section Jabberwocky by Lewis Carroll, ill. Christopher Myers.

We have put together lists of graphic novels focusing on Zombies and Vampires. We have updated Coming Horror Fiction Releases for April and May. "Spring into Terror" horror review project!

We are excited to announce the Spring into Terror horror book review project. Spring into Terror is a collaborative effort presenting reviews of horror fiction that will be available for your reading pleasure this Spring. In addition to providing reviews of horror titles you might be interested in adding to your collection, “Spring into Terror” will highlight participating horror fiction review sites that cover both small press and mainstream horror. Collaborating review sites include: Horrorworld.org, Horror-Web.com, Hellnotes.com, DreadCentral.com, Fearzone.com, HorrorDrive-in.com, MonsterLibrarian.com, and Dark Scribe Magazine. Visit the Spring into Terror to see a list of the titles reviewed at participating sites.

This week is American Library Association's Teen Read Week sponsored by Mirrorstone Books. The Teen Read Week logo on both the Main Page and on the young adult page will take you to the Teen Read Week page.
