I am the Star- The Big Man is Showing Up Here?
In the second Prelude episode viewers meet budding assassin of evil Black Star and his weapon (a chain scythe) Tsubaki as they try to take down an evil mob led by Don Alcapone.
Black Star is a little extra special. He’s a skilled Meister, but his head is in the clouds. In the stratosphere, actually. Where Maka and Soul patrol the streets and investigate specific people to determine if their souls are becoming corrupt, Black Star and Tsubaki are hunting down a 100 person mob trying to deal with the witch Angela. Black Star plans to prove himself and evolve his weapon in one swoop. It’s pretty clear right away that Tsubaki is the smart one and Black Star is possible a cute little loser.
But a fight with the witch’s guardian exposes Black Star’s true abilities, and shows exactly why Tsubaki has chosen to work with him. And when the guardian is defeated and the witch is exposed…well that shows why Black Star, despite all his vanity and stupidity, is a good guy.
Again there is some almost-nudity, but it is also not portrayed in an enviable light, but is presented as a fact of life (you know people, even super powered slayers of evil, happen to have bodies under those clothes.)
