Oh, how I loved this book. This is the second volume of the new Ms. Marvel line from Marvel. Kamala Khan is a young girl with super powers. She is Inhuman, so she gained her powers through Kree tech, but isn’t the Ms. Marvel–Carol Danvers–who first donned the mantle. Instead she is part of a new generation of superheroes, inspired by our older favorite, and determined to improve the world as much as she can. since she got super powers, she feels it’s her responsibility to help people.Ms. Marvel is currently hunting down The Inventor, a mysterious super villain, who, in this book, sends a genetically mutated parakeet to test her abilities (and try to attack her friends.)
Kamala gets some help from some familiar furry (and one slobbery) faces. In the process she discovers The Inventor is convincing her peers they are useless drains on society and is turning them into batteries for his machines,
Kamala steps up to not just save people, but to try to save their hope too.
I highly recommend this one for public and private collections, but particularly class room and school libraries.
