Book Review: Seven Ways We Lie by Riley Redgate

The fact that I’m just now writing reviews after almost 2 years since I promised my mom I would, just shows I’m either lazy or the world’s #1 procrastinator.

Seven Ways We Lie is a teen fiction written by Riley Redgate. It follows seven teens; Olivia and Kat Scott, Juniper Kipling, Claire Lombardi, Matt Jackson, Lucas Mc’callum, and Valentine Simmons. It starts with a teacher-student sex scandal and escalates to drugs, alcohol, and mommy issues. There’s a lot of personality to the characters, which makes up for the simple plot. It’s also fairly easy to see which sin each character represents through their mannerisms and interactions with others. There is quiet a bit of cursing, which is relateable to more than a few teens. There is a scene towards the end that is kinda sexual, but nothing that wouldn’t be shown on TV or in a movie.

I would give this book a 7 out of 10 It’s not the greatest book in the world, but it was a good read. It has the Brosia stamp of approval.
